Beginning in Fall 2026, FSEM faculty will shift into a role that will no longer include registration advising. All FSEM students will meet with advisors in the Office of Academic Advising (OAA) in order to have their registration holds released. Students can find their OAA advisor on the Student Success website.

However, faculty mentorship still includes elements that intersect with advising, including:

• Explaining the role of the Common Curriculum (General Education)

• Offering information on where to find the Office of Academic Advising and when to visit the Office of Academic Advising during the quarter(s)

• Assisting students with understanding the “hidden curriculum” and how to think about the university experience in relation to their values and passions
